Communications & Administration Assistant – INTERNSHIP

Every year Euro-Toques Ireland arranges a host of events of interest to chefs and professional cooks throughout Ireland. These includes regional lunches and producer visits, food workshops and demonstrations, and participation in major industry exhibitions as well as the annual Euro-Toques Food Awards and the Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year competition.
This is your opportunity to be at the centre of all this activity; to gain a knowledge and a network of contacts in Ireland’s food and restaurant industry and vast practical experience across a range of skill sets.
Focused on Communications and Administrative activities for a small, non-profit organisation in the food/hospitality sector. The intern will assist in Communications, Membership, PR, Marketing & Digital activities, and event organising. The intern will gain practical experience in Event Management, Social media, and internal and external Communications. They will be very actively involved in the day to day running of the organisation, and will get an insight into all of the activities, with the opportunity to attend meetings and offer their input. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following: PR & media relations, Social media/Digital marketing. On completion the intern will have attained skills in Communications & Public relations and Membership & Organisational administration in a membership based industry group, as well as knowledge of the Irish agrifood sector and restaurant industry. As a small organisation the work will be varied and challenging and will incorporate general administrative activities.
The intern should be organised, motivated and self-disciplined and able to work on their own initiative.
The person will be expected to be capable of working independently and to take on projects and tasks and bring them to completion, under the guidance of the Secretary-General.
Excellent computer and administrative skills are required and good working knowledge of digital media & web is an advantage.
An interest in food/farming is a distinct advantage.

Third Level – A Qualification or Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage:

- This is an Internship.
- For those qualifying for JobBridge – An allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment. See JobBridge for eligibility criteria.
- Non-JobBridge candidates interested in doing an unpaid internship with Euro-Toques may also apply.
- Required internship term is 9 months.
- Flexibility in working arrangements and role may be considered for suitably qualified candidates.
